Wallpaper: It pays to shop around
We recently decided our master bedroom could use a pop of wallpaper. Looking for the right pattern can be a fun, yet time-consuming endeavour. I spent hours scrolling Pinterest, Instagram and Houzz for inspiration.
It’s helpful to hone in on a general look and palette at the outset. My criteria was botanical and impressionistic. And while I loved many of the bright colour combos I saw, I want the vibe in our room to be serene and calming, so I settled on muted tones.
I found the perfect combination of all elements in a wallpaper called Gossamer, part of the Eclipse Collection by Brewster Home Fashions. See here.
I sourced pricing from a local paint store, and then decided to shop around to ensure I was getting a fair price. A few clicks on Wayfair.ca, and I found the wallpaper at a much more affordable price. I only need two rolls – to cover an accent wall behind our bed – and the savings on Wayfair.ca for the two rolls was $100. If the price difference was more narrow, I would have gone with the local paint store, because supporting local businesses is important, but the one-hundred dollar difference was too much to pass up.
This was my first Wayfair purchase, and the product arrived on time, with free delivery. The wallpaper will be hung in about a month: so I’ll be sure to post reveal shots when complete!
